Success cannot be our goal because it is already God’s goal for us. In fact, God already designed us for success. What then should be our goal? It is to heed His invitation to start a relationship with Him, understand how he thinks and align our thoughts with His and step into our role in the relationship.
That is why in Joshua 1:8, He gave specific instruction to Joshua so that he will achieve prosperity and success. Meditate on His word daily, be courageous. Obey His commands. Then God will give him good success.
Many books have been written giving us success formulas. But God did not give a formula. He gave us a book, the bible so that we can learn how to walk in relationship with him. And that is because between Him and us humans, it is he who wants us to be successful. To make that possible, He died on the cross in our place for us to begin a relationship with Him.
Success and prosperity is not the goal. Our goal is to be faithful to Him. Then success and prosperity follows.
Whatever you have gone through, wherever your station in life is, if you haven’t, He is waiting for you to come to Him and walk with Him. Because He has a plan for you.
If we make success our goal, we may succeed not on His, but on our own terms. We cannot call that success. That was Adam’s undoing.
